Ubisoft has shared a new trailer, welcoming fans to the world of Chicago, in their upcoming open world action game, Watch Dogs.
Ubi touts Watch Dogs’ Chicago as a city with a dynamically reactive population. They have brought up their use of multiple middlewares in the game before, and here, they discuss how AI middleware has made it so that every person in the game has their own personality. This personality manifests itself in terms of where they are in the city at any one time, what they are doing, and how they react to events around them, especially events you set up.
Not everyone in the city is benign, so aside from the actual citywide threat / conspiracy you are facing, you need to watch out that you aren’t messing with someone who will mess you up back. You also need to be on the lookout that you don’t come up in the public radar, because as soon as you become wanted by the police, the news will constantly put your face up in TVs and screens everywhere, and people will actively recognize you everywhere you go.
Lastly, Ubi reminds you not everyone in the city is an AI. Multiplayer has been baked into the main game, and so you need to take care that other players haven’t gone in and tried to mess around with your game. Ubi ends the trailer with a reminder that the game will be available on May 27, perhaps confusingly including Wii U with PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One (?). Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about:
There will also be a Dedsec Special Edition, with the soundtrack, and Aiden Pearce figure, three collectible badges, a map, and extra content, for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. We know at this point you don’t trust the graphics in the trailer anymore, but at least we know the game itself will be quite good.
