Bioware has introduced us to the latest companion character for Dragon Age 3: Inquisition. Meet Vivienne, Madane de Fer.
Vivienne is described as Madame de Fer, or “the Lady of Iron”. She is the official enchanter to the Imperial court, and is described as a master manipulator and a politician at her core. Vivienne has none of the moral scruples your other companions will have. She will help you in your attempt to bring the people of Orlais together, so long as she stands as one of the survivors in the upcoming battle.
Speaking of politics, Vivienne is blatantly pro-Circle, and is opposed to the Mage-Templar War. Between this and the Orlesian Civil War, she was stuck from officially taking post as First Enchanter in either the Circle of Montsimmard or Val Royeaux. She joins your party in the pretense of wanting to help her fellow mages.
As you can see, Vivienne is (perhaps stereotypically) decked out as a fashion plate. True to form, Bioware has shared a character kit for cosplayers, which you can read about here. Not much more info for now, particularly anything related to gameplay or her character stats, but I’d be surprised if she does not instigate a few plot twists midway. Dragon Age Inquisition is coming Q3 this year to Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and Windows.
