One of the most unorthodox, dynamic strikers has just been added to the EA Sports UFC roster. Antony Pettis – the current lightweight champion of the world and the owner of the legendary “Showtime Kick,” is the latest fighter to be given the EA Sports treatment.
If you’ve ever watched a UFC event, you’ve probably seen a clip or two of Pettis. That’s because the 27-year-old athlete jumped off the cage to land a title-winning kick on his opponent early in his career. The spectacular show of skill has earned him a dedicated fanbase who are always waiting to see what he does next – which will come in handy when he coaches the reality series The Ultimate Fighter later this year.
Two Brazilians round out this particular update. Heavyweight Fabricio Werdum and middleweight Gegard Mousasi are both perennial contenders in their respective division, with slick grappling skills and an ever-improving boxing game. Werdum is set to square off with Travis Browne for a shot at the heavyweight title, so for all we know, the veteran could be wearing gold by the end of the year.
EA Sports UFC will hit the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in late spring.
