Diablo 3 players in Australia and New Zealand have had to contend with high latency and massive amounts of lag since the game’s release in 2012.
However with the imminent release of Reaper of Souls, players down under will no longer have to worry about latency issues as Blizzard has announced the deployment of local Diablo 3 game servers for both Australia and New Zealand.
“Blizzard Entertainment is pleased to announce the deployment of local Diablo III game servers for Australia and New Zealand to coincide with the launch of Diablo III: Reaper of Soul on March 25, 2014,” wrote community manager Arcagnion on the battle.net forums. “This new infrastructure should result in a smoother gameplay experience for local players.”
The servers should be automatically connected to for any ANZ players who play on the Americas/South East Asia region. ANZ players who played on the Asian (Chinese-speaking) realm will have to start a new character on the Americas region to access the servers.
