Infamous: Second Son – which launches on the PlayStation 4 later this month – won’t support user-generated content. The ability to create unique challenge levels was an addition found in 2011’s Infamous 2, but the online feature will be absent this time around.
This news comes from the PlayStation Blog, where Brian Fleming — studio co-founder and producer on Second Son – answered a slew of fan questions regarding the game. Online play and user content were both brought up, but Fleming had to shut the eager fan down.
“User-generated content is not a part of this title. It was part of Infamous 2, but not a part of Second Son,” he explained. “It’s a single-player experience, but of course you can share it with others using the fantastic Share button on DualShock 4.”
The online component has never been the draw for the Infamous series, so it’s doubtful that you’ll see PS4 owners rioting through the streets after this news. The game will be available at retail stores and to download March 24.
