EA Sports UFC, the next-generation MMA game coming out of EA Sports, won’t be available until at least June. That’s according to creative director Brian Hayes, who recently took to Reddit to conduct an Ask Me Anything for a project that’s been short on actual gameplay videos. The developer was questioned about the exact release date of the UFC game – which we only know is slated for spring – and indicated that it’ll absolutely launch after May.
“I will be electrocuted if I answer this with any specificity. Not really,” responded to a question regarding an exact date. “There was rumor started that it was in May. I can tell you for sure that it is not in May.”
An optimistic fan hoped that this meant a release earlier than May, but Hayes had to nip that idea in the bud.
“Holy crap definitely not April,” he wrote. “Bite your tongue.”
This means that June is the earlier we could see EA Sports UFC if the team is still going to consider it a spring game. Everything is being built from the ground up for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, so it’s understandable that the game is taking some time. However, it would be unfortunate to see it slip anywhere past June.
