Warning: Cyberpunk 2077 Beta Invites Are Fake

July 30, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

Don’t fall for this scam!

Easily one of the most anticipated video game titles coming out this year has been CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077. The development studio is responsible for the success of The Witcher trilogy worldwide that even sparked an interest to bring out another adaptation from the novel in the form of a Netflix series. With the development studio working on a new IP, there were plenty of eager fans both who caught on the hype train with The Witcher or those looking to finally get attached to a CD Projekt Red for the first time.

This title has been talked about for years now and we’ve been slowly getting close to its release date. While it was intended for a release in September, the game recently was hit with a delay in order to give developers even more time to polish the build created. At any rate, this new delay has people itching for even more news regarding the title and despite being delayed, more details have been coming out.

1/2 If you recently received an email claiming to be granting you beta access to Cyberpunk 2077, it's not from us. Unfortunately, there have been more of these being sent out over the past few weeks. When we contact you via email, it'll always come from @ cdprojektred com address

Still, for those that can’t quite scratch that itch for Cyberpunk 2077 with new trailers or information coming out into the public, a beta may be all that it takes for players to swarm to their inboxes. It seems that emails are going out that are offering beta access to Cyberpunk 2077 ahead of launch. Normally betas are a means to test the game out and provide crucial feedback for the development teams. However, in this case, the emails are fake and CD Projekt Red are warning fans to not fall for these scams.

CD Projekt Red took to their official Twitter account in order to alert followers that there has been an influx of these email beta opportunities going out. These emails are not official and there is no beta access for Cyberpunk 2077. We’re not sure just what the scammers are hoping to obtain, but don’t reply to these emails and give out any information they ask.

Furthermore, if any emails are sent out from the development studio then you can expect them to be done from the CD Projekt Red website address. At any rate, it looks like we’ll have to wait until November 19, 2020, in order to play this game when it launches on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC platforms.
