Daylight Developer Plans to Let Livestream Viewers Control the Horror

February 20, 2014 by Stephen Daly

The game has also been dated for PS4 and PC.

Atlas and developer Zombie Studios have announced that horror game Daylight will be released on April 8th for $14.99 and they are currently working on the details of the game's pre-order incentives.

However, perhaps the most interesting piece of news about the game is the fact that Zombie Studios plans to allow those watching livestreams of Daylight control the action at least in the PS4 version.

On the PlayStation Blog, Sony said:

"Streaming has been a huge boon to the PS4 community, and the devs want Daylight to have an involved relationship with livestreams. The hope is to allow viewers to control the actual scares in a streamer’s experience, providing a much more interactive dynamic between player and audience."

They said Zombie Studios was inspired by the Twitch Plays Pokemon collective effort which has seen thousands of players engage in a single game of an emulated version of Blue or Red.

Daylight will offer "harrowing sound effects, random scares, and even 3D support" before the livestreams' input is taken into account.

Do you think it's a good idea to allow livestream viewers to have control over someone's game?
