Sony has let the cat out of the bag on Final Fantasy 14, revealing details on the Playstation 4 release, which will be on April 14. There’s plenty of time in between for the beta and to transfer from PC or PS3 to PS4.
Let’s talk about what the PS4 version has to offer 1st. Of course, Square Enix and Sony promise 1080p graphics. There will be Vita Remote play, and Share button support, so that you can stream, or share screenshots, as you play. Not only is the Dualshock 4’s Touchpad fully supported, but the game will also accept mouse and keyboard support.
Now, about the beta. Phase 1 will be held February 22 to March 3, and characters from this phase will be wiped when it’s done. Phase 2 will come April 4 to April 7, and the characters created here can be carried over to the actual release. At this phase, PC and PS3 players will be able to carry their character data over to the PS4 version.
In turn, PS3 to PS4 transfers begin April 11. This has been explained before, but to make sure everyone is clear, after this transfer, you will only be able to play the game on PS4 moving forward. People who have multiple PS3 accounts can transfer all of them over. Players who transfer will have early access between April 11 to April 13. Of course, you will need to have logged into that PS3 account at least once to actually be able to transfer it over.
