Cyberpunk 2077 is easily one of the most anticipated video game titles releasing in 2020. This year has had plenty of AAA video game launches but most are still eagerly awaiting the launch of the latest game being developed by The Witcher development studio, CD Projekt Red. Now that the game was delayed from its September release to November, it seems that there was plenty of time available to ensure that the game was as polished as the developers could possibly get it before release. Unfortunately, it looks like one of the features that were previously showcased had been cut from the entire game.
It’s not rare for games to get content cut. In fact, it was just yesterday that we reported on Red Dead Redemption 2 mission details that were cut from the game. That was also just one of the missions that were supposedly included in the several hours cut from Red Dead Redemption 2, a title that’s rather massive in both areas to explore and missions to complete. In the meantime, it looks like hat those who are interested in Cyberpunk 2077 will find that the wall running feature previously showcased won’t be included.
“Ah, the wall running, that is something that we removed due to design reasons, but there’s still going to be a lot of flexibility in how you move, that’s for sure”.
Max Pears
This information comes from level designer Max Pears who spoke with Gameractor. In the conversation, the topic of traversing vertically in the game came up and naturally the wall running for the title. According to the developer, it looks like there was a decision to remove the wall running due to some conflicts with the game design.
For now, it looks like there is plenty of options to make your way through the area at a fast pace but if you were banking on some wall running or augmentations that would allow players to make wall running more seamless, it seems that you’ll be out of luck. Still, Cyberpunk 2077 has plenty for fans to enjoy from what we’ve seen so far online.
Currently, Cyberpunk 2077 is slated for a release on November 19, 2020, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms. Other platforms such as the next-generation consoles should see a title launch in the future.
