Fans have put up an unofficial Q&A for Pokemon Bank. For your convenience, we’re picking out the best answers for easy perusal. If you came here wanting to find out how it works, go here and come back to us for more.
Without a doubt, you need to know these things 1st:
Restarting after putting Pokemon in the bank makes you lose your items, but you can retrieve your Pokemon.
If you use the trial, and don’t subscribe, you have a grace period to get your Pokemon out, after which your Pokemon will be deleted. Unfortunately, it seems there is no way to get the subscription while the trial is ongoing. Hopefully Nintendo will do the obvious thing and send a reminder at the right time, but if you use the trial, just keep it in mind.
NOTE: Based on a prior report from a Nintendo source, it seems Nintendo will store your Pokemon data if you miss a payment. Considering our Q&A source isn’t a Nintendo rep, this part still isn’t 100 % unclear, but if you’re on trial you’re better off starting a subscription.
Second order of business, the free Celebi. Again, go through the guide to get it first. Forget soft reset, the Celebi will be transferred to you directly so the nature/IV you get is what you get. Lastly, if you are so inclined, you can farm the Celebi, but you will lose your digital purchases in the process. If you were curious, you would take the hassle anyway. Check out the full guide here.
Now, about hacks. Yes, hacked Pokemon seem to be able to go through, but only under specific circumstances. Nintendo has not placed overly restrictive limitations, but the obvious checks are there. For example, Azure Flute Arceus is a completely fake Pokemon. It isn’t going to go in at all.
On the flip side, there are circumstances where it seems Pokemon Bank won’t let legitimate Pokemon through. If you think this is the case, go through our checklist below:
· If you got it from Wonder Trade, it could be hacked or cloned.
· If you’re sure, there are cases legit Pokemon are blocked. Check if it has any moves its not supposed to have or outside its moveset. You can also check if it has a hacked item or received hacked Pokerus. (Pokerus is real.)
· Unfortunately, there is currently no way for users to tell if their X and Y Pokemon are hacked. You can only check for the telltale signs, as outlined above.
Lastly, some random bits:
· The bank won’t take eggs.
· Get all 705 Pokemon save the event Pokemon to be eligible for the Shiny Charm.
· In general, tutor moves do not pass down as egg moves.
