The Order: 1886 Runs at 30fps, 1080p

February 6, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

Ready at Dawn has confirmed that the upcoming action game for the PlayStation 4 will play at 30fps, 1080p.

Ready at Dawn has confirmed that the PS4 action game The Order: 1886 will run at 30fps and 1080p.

In an interview with Play3, studio boss Re Weerasuriya said, “Currently we do not aim [for] 60 frames per second. In a first person shooter that [surely] makes sense. Also fighting games are undoubtedly predestined for 60 frames.

“But for us, the cinematic experience is in the foreground [basically focus] – presented in full HD 1080p. In favor of spectacular effects and the highest resolution we restrict ourselves to a fluid 30 frames per second.”

The fact that the framerate is half that of 60fps shouldn’t be too much of an issue, so long as it is consistent.

The news follows the release of four new screenshots from the game. Seen below, the screenshots depict the game’s main characters at various points of the game.
