The PlayStation 4 is having success all over the world, according to continued reports from regional executives. PlayStation UK boss Fergal Gara spoke at an event in London today about the console’s current sales status, revealing that the next-generation console is outselling the Xbox One by a ratio of 1.5:1 (via GameSpot).
That’s a strong start for a company that’s been behind in the region for quite some time. Sony lost a bit of footing in the UK during the PlayStation 3 era, as the above ratio is currently reversed for the Xbox 360 and PS3. It was Gara’s bosses who urged this segment of the company to step up its game during this fresh start, and it looks like a smart marketing campaign and rock-solid piece of hardware have helped achieve that goal.
In the last two years, Sony's home and handheld console market share in the UK had grown from 23 percent to 40 percent. That’s a big win for the company, which hopes to roll with this momentum as more games release during the spring season.
