Kickstarter Horse World Online Needs A Nudge To Finally Get Released

January 30, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

The browser based game is the ultimate horse lover’s game! And it needs your help.

There’s an amazing new horse breeding game out now in Kickstarter, that needs your help to come to fruition. Introducing Horse World Online.

This is not a joke. Started by Larissa Rintjema in 2004 (a decade ago!), Horse World Online will allow you to breed your own horses and raise them, either to make special breeds or groom them for competition. Horse World Online is completely browser based, and will be designed in such a way that you can play them smartphones and computers alike.

This game is seriously for horse lovers. Not only will you be able to feed your horses daily, there will be an adoption center, a dynamic pattern creator that ensures no two horses will look the same, representations of any and every breed imaginable, and a range of customizable items such as saddles, bridles, unicorn horns, ribbons, bows, etc.

On a macro level, you will also be able to expand your stable itself, from a single pasture to an entire ranch home. You will have tools to draw up your own building plans and sell them as virtual blueprints to other players.

When it comes to skill training, you can venture to become a veterinarian, blacksmith, horse trainer, breeder, rider or craftsperson. Each skillset gives you bonuses and abilities, and with crafting abilities, you can make the ideal saddle, bridle, feed, etc, which you can again sell to other players as blueprints.

Finally, there will be 20 different horse competitions to enter in, including Dressage, Show Jumping, Reining, Barrel Racing, Steeplechasing, etc, for you and your horse to enter and become champions.

The level of detail in this horse simulation is amazing, but it’s also surprising that the game hasn’t been released yet after all this years (there is a working alpha). The programmer, Larissa Rintjema, explains that they went to Kickstarter to get everything needed to finalize the project, namely an upgraded server, paying the artists and other assistants, and to cover operation costs.

If you love horses, or know someone who does, you let them know now to get this game the $ 6,000 in funding it needs.
