The different contracts you can pick up for Dark Souls 2 multiplayer are conveniently color coded, for easy identification and a somewhat Tron-ish effect. These contracts also seek to fit you into specific roles and playstyles, shaping up the game even further.
Let’s tackle the contract that doesn’t make you glow-in-the-dark first, though. The Azure Faithful have entered into pacts with the Azure Gods, and will help the Azure Guardians if requested.
The Azure Guardians, glowing bright blue, are pledged to the gods in their own way. Aside from being able to summon the Faithful, they can render judgements on sinners, allowing them to enter the sinner’s world.
The Blood Brethren are out for the Azure Guardians, purposely entering the worlds other players inhabit to kill them. These are recommended for fans of PvP, red glow and all.
The Warriors of Sunlight glow an unsexy yellow, but are no less interesting than the others. These sun worshippers bring back that inimitable pose, and their power, back for another round.
Finally, the Bell Keepers wear the darkest of armors, and yet light reflects on them to hint at cloaks and many pieces of armor. The Bell Keepers come calling when intruders come into realms populated by the ancient bells.
These contracts only hint at the variety of gameplay styles you can expect from a Dark Souls 2. Still, as they are, should be fun to see all the colors as the characters meet up on the battlefield, like a Mardi Gras of Death or something to that effect.
Dark Souls 2 is coming to Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows on March 11.
