Naughty Dog has crafted up several iconic video game titles into the market. They released cinematic and story-driven content that is matched with a high level of detail within the game world. Currently, there is a ton of anticipation for Naughty Dog’s upcoming sequel to The Last of Us, but that’s soon going to start shifting over to the upcoming television series adaptation. There’s been a few attempts to bring The Last of Us into a different medium such as a film, but now we’re moving into an HBO premium television series which is being done through PlayStation Productions.
The series is adapting the first game though we’re uncertain at this point if we’ll get any content from the DLC or the upcoming sequel during this first run. While there is still plenty of questions left unanswered in terms of the storyline along with casting, we do know that the series is being written by both Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin along with Neil Druckmann, the creative director and writer of The Last of Us franchise. The duo is hoping to make a series that can deliver an emotional journey that fans will be embarking on once again along with those that may not have played the game.
At any rate, we now know that the pilot will be directed by Johan Renck who has worked on a variety of hit television series such as Breaking Bad, Bates Motel, and The Walking Dead. It’s likely going to be a big undertaking to work on an IP that has such a massive following already and of course, the first impression of the series will be the pilot episode. Now we’re wondering who will be cast for the different characters in the series.
