The modding tools for Total War: Rome 2 are now available on Steam. Available in the form of a beta, the Total War: Rome 2 Assembly Kit was specifically designed to help players to modify and edit the game as they see fit.
The Assembly Kit allows would-be modders to edit the database values in the game, including game logic, unit values, as well as the ability to alter, create, and render in-game assets.

– Variant Editor – for editing the look of characters, units and ships
BOB – for processing data including:

– Models
– Animations
– Database tables
– Group formations
– Campaign starting positions
– Packing files into mod pack

– Motion Builder for animations
– Maya for animations
Data
– Example data for each supported data type
– The complete database backend
To simplify the process for would-be modders, Creative Assembly has included examples such as naval vessels, soldiers, animation sets, and the complete Rome 2 database backend with the kit.
