When it comes to making a Call of Duty game, a development studio needs the right number of eager hands to help ship the annual product. However, the usual studio suspects – which include Infinity Ward and Treyarch – aren’t in the spotlight today. Instead, Modern Warfare 3 co-developer Sledgehammer Games is the team looking for new blood to help build the next big Call of Duty game.
Publisher Activision posted more than ten Sledgehammer job advertisements (via CVG) earlier this week including positions in the fields of art, design, animation, and engineering. Here’s a description for one of the jobs:
“The Sledgehammer character team is looking for a top notch hard surfaces modeler to join our AAA family working on a next-gen Call of Duty game,” the post reads. “In this position candidates would live, eat and breathe everything vehicles and weapons related. They will work with the Lead Character Artist, Art Director and Design team to generate hyper realistic assets for in-game use.”
With Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Ghosts not exactly lighting the world on fire, maybe Activision is turning to Sledgehammer to spice things up a bit. Attack dogs that can take down helicopters can only take a series so far, you know.
