There is a ton of anticipation right now in the video game industry. For fans, there are not only exciting video game titles releasing this year but there’s also the promise of the next-generation Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles. This year is also a bit of an unusual one as well thanks to the worldwide health pandemic. We’re living in some odd times and while most of us may be practicing our social distancing and quarantines laid out by the government orders, it’s not stopping the thrills and hype building up for what’s coming out this holiday season.
Still this year’s health pandemic is also causing some issues in planned announcements and reveals. While there have been several expos and events either cancelled, transitioned online or postponed, it’s causing several companies to think up a new strategy in revealing their content. Microsoft for one had been hyping up E3 2020 since last year and with E3 being cancelled, the company has opted to use the internet as a means to showcase a stream for different reveals. Now we’re finding out that there will be a monthly update system in placed.
Microsoft is calling it Xbox 20/20 and it’s a monthly update that will happen showcasing all things Xbox. This first stream that will be attached to the program is set for May 7, 2020, which is the stream that will display some of the third-party video game titles coming out. It may not be the big reveal that most were hoping for with first-party studios announcing their latest projects, but that’s been confirmed to happen in July through Xbox 20/20.
As mentioned, this is going to be a monthly event for players to tune into for everything Xbox. So far we know it will continue through this year, but uncertain what the next year holds for fans of the Xbox name. Likewise, we’re still uncertain just when in the holiday season we’ll get the XSX.
