State of Decay Devs Partner with Microsoft in Multi-Year, Multi-Game Deal

January 10, 2014 by Andrea Castellano

Undead Labs signs an extension with Microsoft to develop multiple titles.

Undead Labs plans to continue their apocalyptic survival through a development partnership with Microsoft. The new deal extends the relationship with Microsoft to bring multiple games within a multi-year extension.

Undead Labs won't discuss what their plans involve, but the studio promises "big things" with State of Decay. In the meantime, Undead quietly develops prototypes they hope to discuss later this year.

State of Decay garnered much success such from its Xbox Live Arcade release as it sold 500,000 copies in its first week of release. Following the successful launch, Undead Labs release the Breakdown DLC to increased the game's difficulty, and in turn change the game players became accustomed to.

State of Decay later released on PC with the Breakdown DLC this past November. The PC version launched under the early access program without keyboard and mouse support, but Undead later patched in the option.
