PlayStation Now sounds like a fantastic solution to the lack of backwards compatibility in so many modern devices, but it’s still early in production and far from perfect. The closed beta is expected to hit by the end of the month and as of now, there seems to be a bit of latency for basic movements in games.
The above image comes from an Instagram video that’s been slowed down and turned into a GIF. As you can see, the person playing God of War is experience lag when moving in just about any direction. This type of latency has been a topic of discussion for services like OnLive, and will likely continue as we approach the summer launch of the PlayStation Now service. It wouldn’t be ideal to pay a subscription fee for games that don’t function as well as they should.
Hopefully the closed beta program can iron out any early issues those at CES are seeing.
