Telltale Games’ chief technology officer and co-founder, Kevin Bruner, is a busy man. The second season of The Walking Dead seems like a pretty time-consuming project for one studio to complete, but add the new Game of Thrones and Borderlands spinoffs, and you got yourself one of the most packed development schedules in the industry.
That won’t stop TellTale from at least voicing what other licenses it’d like to work with. Speaking with OXM, Bruner quickly pointed to James Bond as the next big thing he’d like to tackle.
"I'm a giant James Bond fan and I'm always frustrated by games that make him a mass murderer," he said. “He's a super-spy, and that's a different skill set. The films make him less of a mass murderer, and there's not much killing in the books – more spying and intrigue."
The list doesn’t stop there, though. One name that comes to almost everyone’s mind is Star Wars and yes, TellTale is interested in that, too. Licensing deals of this magnitude have enabled the company to not only acquire a bit of a financial cushion, but also experiment with new IP that won’t sink the business if they fail. Something as big as Star Wars could give them enough room to do whatever they want for a while.
For right now, though, let’s just worry about the dozen other games TellTale has in the works before we go considering what else the surging studio has up its sleeve.
