It’s not exactly easy to find a PlayStation 4 available to purchase – especially if you’re just looking to spend the retail price of $399. There are likely dozens of overpriced consoles on eBay and Amazon, but consumers shouldn’t have to wait too long before a new shipment of hardware reaches places like Wal-Mart and Best Buy.
Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida was asked on Twitter why buyers can easily find Xbox Ones on the market but still can’t pick up a new PS4. His response? “Be patient,” as the Sony console won’t be sold out forever. The company previously stated that new shipments would be arriving at major retailers in either January or February, so like Yoshida said, we’ll just have to be a bit patient before new consoles make it to stores.
We know that the PS4 has at least pushed 2.1 million units, but as of this writing, Yoshida does not know how many consoles are out in the wild.
