Due to poor sales of the franchise, Valkyria Chronicles 3 won't release in Europe or North America with local translations. To help realize the dream of a Valkyria Chronicles 3 release, a fan translation patch lets PSP or PS Vita players play the Japanese version of Valkyria Chronicles 3 with English subtitles.
In order to play turn-based strategy game, fans must download the game from the Japanese PlayStation Network store. Players must then apply the language patch in download from the website. Conveniently enough, the Japanese PSN store discounted Valkyria Chronicles 3 down to 980 yen – around $10. The sale ends on January 8th.
After poor sales of the PSP release of Valkyria Chronicles 2, Sega decided to avoid Valkyria Chronicles 3 localization for Western markets. The studio expected a certain levels of sales and the game failed to meet them.
