Christine Love has announced her latest project, scheduled for release sometime in 2015. Let's start with the game’s name: My Twin Brother Made Me Crossdress as Him And Now I Have To Deal With A Geeky Stalker And A Domme Beauty Who Want Me In A Bind!! You can also call it Ladykiller in a Bind for short.
Love describes it as an erotic visual novel about social manipulation and girls tying up other girls. Personally, I’m glad to see Love break away from the more loaded themes of her previous games for a lighter look at romance, BDSM, and sexual identity.
The past few months she had been preoccupied with Interstellar Selfie Station, putting her games up on Steam Sales, and even running a Twine workshop, so she hasn’t rested on her laurels since releasing Hate Plus. For those interested, Interstellar Selfie Station, which I can best describe as some kind of sendoff/modernizaiton of the Game Boy Camera, is coming to iOS devices in 2014.
In an email interview with Polygon, Love explains that her intent is to make a more upfront, honest version of a dating sim. As she points out, these games are usually about manipulation passed off as romance, with the player’s choices almost always ending in a good outcome for him (the trope is always about a male character courting several attractive women). Ladykiller in a Bind will turn that around, as player choices will actually have consequences.
