Nintendo’s had a rough holiday season. After the Pokemon Bank was taken off the Japanese eShop due to an enormous amount of traffic, the Pokemon X and Y team has decided to delay today’s European and North American release of the online banking system. The Poke Transporter 3DS will also come at a later date, once again thanks to too many people caring about catching ‘em all online.
"Due to the high traffic, players are having trouble setting up Nintendo Network IDs and downloading content in the Nintendo eShop on both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS," Nintendo said. "We truly regret the inconvenience, and wish to reassure everyone that providing a solution is our top priority. We apologize for the delay and thank you for your continued patience."
This just means that players will have to wait a bit longer to manage up to 3,000 Pokemon in their own private cloud space.
Don’t forget that the eShop will be undergoing maintenance on the Wii U and 3DS today for a 12 hours period. You can probably point to Pokemon for some of these troubles.
