Look, the makers of EA Sports UFC don’t want you to actually feel like you’re getting punched right in the jaw while you play their game. I know we keep hearing about how the sports title will make you “feel the fight,” but that doesn’t mean you’re going to be sitting in the hospital after a competitive online match. Brian Hayes, the creative director of the next-generation product slated for a spring 2014 release, is looking to make players feel closer to the action. The above video is all about the vision of the game, and how the new level of realism all the hardware horsepower provides brings players that much closer to the action.
Few of us know what it’s like to step into a cage and stare someone down who’s ready to break your will. Honestly, most of us have no desire to find out how terrifying that really is. But EA Sports UFC is looking to make you experience all the best parts of being an MMA expert without the pain and blood loss. The grappling, striking, and training are all much better when your body isn’t the object on the line, and Hayes hopes that players will be able to understand just how exciting the sport can be with the help of the game’s detailed fighters and tight mechanics.
