Traditionally, PC versions of multiplatform games are ports of their console counterparts. They often come with a host of problems and fall short of being “true” PC games, featuring lackluster graphics, a lack of dedicated servers and other issues that an otherwise “true” PC title would not have.
To that end, Ubisoft Massive has vowed that the PC version of Tom Clancy’s The Division will not be a port of the console versions of the game. The game itself wasn’t originally planned for release on the PC, but its developers opted to bring the game to the platform after many requests from the gaming community.
In a blog post published today, the studio stated, “As you know, Massive has its roots in PC development. We are working hard and we want to make sure that we have a very high quality experience on PC. You can be sure that our PC version won’t be a port, but a full-fledged, optimized version! We want to create the best game possible regardless of what platform you play on.”
In addition to the PC, the game is also slated for release on the PS4 and Xbox One.
