The DayZ standalone edition is seeing numerous hackers and cheaters run rampant throughout the game.
Due to the early nature of the alpha, this is to be expected, but fans are worried that not even BattleEye nor VAC will be able to stop them from doing so due to the fact that these vulnerabilities are core elements of the Arma 2 engine, on which the game is based.
Among the hacks present in the game are teleporting players, unlimited ammo, ESPs, god-mode, thermal/night vision, and more.
“I feel seriously let down because this was one of the most important factors to DayZ:SA,” wrote a player named gouk on reddit. “Without the client-server structure to safely secure against most sorts of hacking there is little incentive to play DayZ:SA over other DayZ-mods or Breaking Point.”
