People of all ages enjoy Nintendo products, but when it comes to this particular holiday season, the Mario maker is throwing money at a specific demographic. Speaking with Seattle news publication King5, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime indicated that the company is going to be throwing a great deal more marketing dollars toward kids and their parents. He hopes to do well with the family demographic, which is something that Nintendo has had a great deal of success with in the past.
"The marketing has tremendously ramped up. And really what it comes down to is being crystal clear about who's your target. And for us this holiday with Wii U the target is parents and their kids," Fils-Aime said.
There will be plenty of core experiences down the line, with a new Zelda game announced just earlier today that barrows heavily from the Dynasty Warriors franchise. However, the main goal between now and the New Year is to grab the attention of the parents, so that they feel the need to buy a Wii U or 3DS for the kids.
