We’ve been waiting for the reveal of the PlayStation 5. There hasn’t been too many details unleashed about the next-generation PlayStation console and while there is a health scare going on at the moment, Sony is going forward with the announcement of at least one section of the PlayStation 5 tomorrow. Announced through the official PlayStation Twitter account, we’re finding out a video will be uploaded regarding the PlayStation 5.
While we know a video is coming, we’re unsure of just what aspects will be unveiled for the PlayStation 5. The lead architect, Mark Cerny, will be showcasing the PlayStation 5 system architecture and this should give us an idea on how the system will handle video games going forward in the future.
You may recall yesterday Microsoft unveiled their system components and specifications for the Xbox Series X. This could be a response to that post and help hype up the console platform. This video may have likely been something that was suppose to be used during an event such as GDC. With so many events closing down right now due to the coronavirus, there is likely several online events that are being prepared in order to showcase what is coming out in the near future.
For now, we know that the video will be available online tomorrow through the official PlayStation blog at 9AM Pacific Time. You can expect coverage right here as well and being a video, it doesn’t appear that this will be an actual livestream event. With all that said, we’re certainly interested in learning if the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are being affected by the coronavirus in that we’ll see the consoles get pushed back from their scheduled holiday 2020 window launch.
