Capcom has brought the Resident Evil franchise into a new remake trend lately. With Resident Evil already remade and remastered for current platforms, the development studio finally turned their attention towards Resident Evil 2. The result was a massive hit with both veterans and newcomers enjoying the classic survival horror title. However, that’s not stopping Capcom as the development studio is currently remaking Resident Evil 3.
While we still have about a month to go before we’re able to get our hands on a copy, Capcom released a video featuring 13 minutes of gameplay footage. Unfortunately, this is in Japan so we don’t have any English subtitles or translations but the video is overall an interview with the team working on the Resident Evil title.
At the 42 minute mark, you’ll get the start of a Resident Evil 3 gameplay footage showcasing Jill Valentine roaming the area in search of resources. Outside of that exploration, we do get to see some action with Jill firing away at zombie’s legs to bring them on to the ground. It’s worth mentioning that the voice-over in-game is in English but there isn’t too much of it showcased. It also seems that there are some new means to stall zombies if they become too much to handle such as causing them to be stunned by electricity. We’re sure there are additional new features added into this installment, but we’ll likely have to wait until the game releases before we’re able to experience them.
Currently, Resident Evil 3 is slated to release on April 3, 2020, for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms. You can check out the gameplay footage above along with a trailer for the title down below.
