Polyphony Digital have just announced that they have partnered with BMW to bring one of its newest cars, the M4 Coupe, to Gran Turismo 6.
In real life, the M4 Coupe, along with the M3 Sedan, were revealed by BMW to the cars enthusiast press just as recently as Polyphony Digital’s announcement. Both cars signal a return to six-cylinder, twin-turbocharged engines. They both also have the “Smokey Burnout” function, which allows the driver to have a certain degree of rear wheel spin while the car moves at low speeds. The M4 Coupe is being produced in BMW’s Munich plant, and will be premiered at the 2014 North American Auto Show in Detroit January next year.
However, if you are a car geek and a gamer, Polyphony Digital is going to give you the chance to drive the M4 Coupe this month, in-game of course. You have until December 26 to play with the car in the BMW M4 Coupe Superlap Challenge. In this seasonal event, you race the M4 Coupe across the Nurburgring Grand Prix circuit, and you have the chance to rent, or even buy, the car within this timeframe.
Polyphony Digital pulled those all-too-real strings to get an early look at the M4 Coupe while it was still in its development phase. Therefore, they claim to have recreated the car’s real life qualities, which I assume include the six cylinder twin turbo engine, as well as that Smokey Burnout function. If you have a copy of this game, go online and try it out now, and see if Polyphony Digital really has recreated that experience.
