Variety has a new exclusive report that has some exciting announcements regarding the upcoming video game adaptation film, Uncharted.
As you read from the headline, Sony has cast three new actors for the upcoming film — Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali, and Tati Gabrielle. As of now, there is no notes on who these actors will play, but with Nathan Drake and Victor Sullivan already cast as Tom Holland and Mark Whalberg respectively, we can rule those characters out.
Director Ruben Fleischer (Venom, Zombieland) seems to be settling in as the official director, hopefully. With new cast announcements, production on the upcoming film is not so far behind, however, the Uncharted movie has been plagued for years in development hell, so anything is possible.
IGN recently spoke with Tom Holland who was able to confirm that the movie would be a prequel to the video game installments but plenty of the inspiration behind the script comes from Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, in particular.
Tom Holland recently stated that production on the upcoming Uncharted movie will begin relatively shortly, within a four week time frame. With a couple of new actors boarded onto the film, the reality of this movie is finally coming to fruition.
The Uncharted movie is set to release in theaters on March 5th, 2021. Are you excited for the upcoming video game adaptation movie? Let us know in the comments below!
