The World of Warcraft in-game store, which lets players use real money to purchase pets and mounts, is now open for all subscribers.
This news comes via an official blog post that explains the convenience of the shop, as players will be able to quickly buy and use any desired creature in the storefront. These mounts and pets will be placed directly in your inventory, and to celebrate the big launch of this microtransaction service, Blizzard has placed a 50 percent discount on the majority of the items in stock.
At this time, the Enchanted Fey Dragon mount, Alterac Brew Pup pet, and Blossoming Ancient pet are not available at a discounted price. The Wyvern and Gryphon plushies, as well as the Guardian Cubpet and Moonkin Hatchling pet are not available for purchase at all in the Blizzard Shop. The details of what can be bought, as well as what’s selling for cheap, can be seen on the blog.
Community manager Micah Whipple confirmed the incoming real-money system back in July, so it’s been a long time coming for the store. If you prefer this type of system, the option is now there.
