North America isn’t the only region where Sony is outselling its closest competitor. According to PlayStation Spain and Portugal CEO James Armstrong (via MeriStation), the PlayStation 4 has sold three times as many units as the Xbox One since launch.
There have been about 80,000 PS4s pushed in Spain since the console’s Nov. 29 launch. This might not sound like a massive number, but when compared to the Xbox One – which hit retailers a full week beforehand – the figure becomes a little bit more impressive.
Armstrong claims that Sony is pushing to fulfill another 12,000 to 15,000 pre-orders for the next-gen systems that have yet to be met due to supply constraints. The demand is there, so all the company needs is a bit of time.
The last time Sony checked in with sales, the global number was 2.1 million. We’ll likely hear a new update before too long.
