Ninja Theory may be best known for their release, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice which released back in 2017. The video game took on a fantasy world where the main protagonist dealt with trauma, loss and mental struggles. It was a massive success and it has sparked the development studio to create a sequel that will be releasing on both the PC and XSX.
However, that’s not the only game being developed at the moment as there is a multiplayer-focused game known as Bleeding Edge that is slated to launch later this year. Now Microsoft has unveiled that Ninja Theory is working on a new in-development experimental title known only as Project: Mara at the moment. It’s a game that will allow the development team to offer a new way of storytelling though very few details about the IP have been unveiled.
According to the official post on the Microsoft Xbox website, Project: Mara will be a real-world and grounded representation of mental terror. With the development studio already taking quite a bit of care as they researched mental issues for their protagonist in Hellblade, it seems that the studio wants to dive a bit deeper for a new game release.
Unfortunately, not much more has been unveiled at the moment for the game, but you can take a look at the initial teaser above. It’s worth noting that the teaser is included in a development diary of Ninja Theory. The studio is calling it The Dreadnought Diaries that focuses on the journey of their upcoming projects. To get a look at the teaser, you’ll need to go towards the 6-minute mark, though we’ll continue to report on the latest for Project: Mara as more information is released.
