DICE has made a clarification regarding the Battlefield 4 Double XP event for Premium members.
Basically, Premium members were promised a slate of exclusive events, and this included a special Double XP event just for them. However, as you may remember, DICE later apologized to all the fans for the issues they have been facing with the game, and promised Double XP for everyone between November 28 to December 5.
So, regarding the Premium Double XP event, it is still on the way, but it has been delayed. Now, Premium players will get their own event after everyone else has on the weekend of December 7.
It is not a perfect solution, but, considering the fallout with the game’s issues, this has become a minor issue in the long run. Premium and non-Premium players alike have an axe to grind with DICE, if the comments on this post are any indication.
In fact, if nothing else, many fans are not satisfied with the purported game reward. The problem here is that none of the Double XP events are any good to fans who can’t get the game running properly. Many fans are demanding that DICE fix the netcode before they schedule any events.
I must admit I had not thought about it when it was first announced, but of course scheduling events is not a good idea if the game isn’t fixed yet. DICE didn’t seem to do so either, but if this is even going to mean anything, they should go ahead and reschedule it.
