Xbox One preorders have gone back up on Amazon, two days prior to the console’s release.
Not only that, but Amazon is upselling Day One orders. These orders come with them the added pressure of guaranteeing delivery of the console on November 22. Day One editions also come with a commemorative controller, a code to unlock a Day One achievement (for getting the Day One console), and special packaging.
Amazon also reveals that customers who bought the console also got an extra Xbox One controller, Call of Duty Ghosts, Forza Motorsports 5 Day One Edition, Squaretrade 2 year console insurance, Dead Rising 3 Day One Edition, and Ryse Day One Edition.
Amazon Europe VP Xavier Garambois has intimated the company’s belief that it will have one of the most successful console launches of all time, so they seem keen to squeeze in as many preorders for it as they can. We have yet to hear of any supply issues with the console, so why does the package keep dropping out of Amazon? My best guess, lacking clear evidence, is simply that Amazon keeps placing and replacing orders for it.
Unlike Sony, who seems to have pledged to supply as many PS4s as the market demands, Microsoft is releasing units a bit more conservatively, possibly more rationally. Whatever your feelings are for the Xbox One, loyal fans will definitely be going out to buy them and raise Day One sales as much as they can. If you are one of those loyal Xbox fans, what expectations do you have for Day One? Don’t hesitate to share your thoughts with us below, we won’t bite 😉
