MGS5: Kojima Says He’s Created The Great Escape of Gaming

November 15, 2013 by Stephen Daly

Kojima tweets that it’s been his ambition for 26 years but is now finally possible.

Hideo Kojima has tweeted that his ambition with Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes has been to create the videogame equivalent of classic movie The Great Escape.

He added that it simply wasn't possible until now to realise his vision despite multiple advancements in platforms since 1987 but that current technologies couples with the Fox Engine being used to make Ground Zeroes means it's now possible.

Wanted to create game like movie "Great Escape". That was the start. Such tension you try to move & stay away from the search light (cont)

wasn't possible w/MSX2 SPRITE in 1987, even w/PS1 3D polygon in 1998 was hard that could only draw one curving search light. (Cont)

"Déjà-Vu Mission" has a lot more than using low polygon Snake skin. It's special mission of exploring Shadow Moses-ish GZ base.

Metal Gear Solid 5 will have exclusive PlayStation content for both PS3 and PS4 it was revealed last night. The Deja Vu Mission will allow players to take on the role of classic Snake and is not a DLC – the extra content comes on the disc Konami senior producer Ken-Ichiro Imaizumi revealed.

ちなみに「Deja Vu Mission」はDLCじゃないからね! The Deja Vu Mission is NOT DLC. It's included in MGSV:Ground Zeroes.
