Death Stranding is the long-awaited title from the mastermind himself, Hideo Kojima. A bunch of news for the game has been emerging since its embargo has been lifted, and it seems the train is still rolling as more interesting information revolving the game, and Kojima have emerged thanks to a new interview with Norman Reedus.
The interview between Reedus and The Hollywood Reporter has brought a ton of interesting answers from the leading actor. There’s a ton of great questions and answers, but one that has caught our attention is to do with the cancellation of Silent Hills.
When asked when Kojima pitched the idea of Death Stranding to Norman after the cancellation of the widely popular P.T. demo, Reedus was completely sold on the idea. Check out the highlights from the interview down below:
It was completely different. Silent Hills had the backstory and people knew that game, knew what it was about and what it would look like. When that went away, I was bummed, but when Hideo described what we were doing next, I completely forgot about it. I was like, thank god that didn’t work, because this is way better. This is a completely different thing. I’ve been with Hideo at the Game Awards, and he’s like the Beatles. Grown men in their 40s are screaming with tears in their eyes like Elvis just walked into the room. I’m like, who is this guy?
The Hideo that I know is a friend of mine. He’s had dinner at my house, met my girlfriend and my cat. He’s always been super personable and such a friendly guy with a great sense of humor. He’s great to hang out with. I’ve really gotten to know the mind of Hideo a little bit. I like the fact that Silent Hills didn’t happen, to be honest, because I’ve gotten such a peek into the way he works and the way he thinks, and I’m completely blown away by this guy.
Reedus seems to have a lot of respect from Kojima, as many of us do. Kojima is an icon in the gaming industry and with his upcoming game only a couple of days from releasing, the gaming community is on the brink of freaking out. The hype for the game is at an ultimate high, and we’ll see soon enough what the majority of the gaming community thinks of the titular game, Death Stranding.
In related news, Hideo Kojima recently released an 8-minute launch trailer for the highly anticipated title! The trailer gives players plenty of new looks at the game, which includes new gameplay, a ton of new character plot points, and new environments. However, I would note that if you’re trying to go into Death stranding as blind as possible, I would skip the trailer. If you want to check out the epic launch trailer, click here!
