Call of Duty Ghosts for the PC has now received a mod allowing fans to change their field of vision. Statements from Infinity Ward and Valve confirm that they are not going to ban players who will be using such a FOV changer. We make no guarantees that this mod works, or that it will not get you banned, but if you want to give it a try now, you can click here. The image above is from a user who has confirmed the mod works.
For the uninitiated, the FOV changer is a simple gameplay alteration allowing you to shrink the actual screen you are playing in. The intention here is to allow you to see the whole stock of your weapon.
GameRanx cannot personally vouch that you can use this FOV changer without getting banned. However, we have collected the available information regarding this issue and players are using this mod now without any worries. There are multiple testimonies from players who have installed the mod, confirmed it works , and are still able to play. Prior statements from Infinity Ward and Valve, in connection to the Valve Anti-Cheat System, corroborate that they are not going to be banning players who use such a mod.
Ultimately, you have to wonder why Infinity Ward did not add this feature in the game in the first place. Given how much work was put into reimagining Call of Duty into Ghosts, it would not have cost them as much to add this feature. Maybe we can get Infinity Ward to officially add it in in a future patch, for all systems.
Call of Duty Ghosts is available today on Windows, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3, and will be coming to Playstation 4 and Xbox One at launch.
