The movie business is constantly moving and as a result, several key members may join in just to exit shortly after. Uncharted is one of the movie adaptations that’s been stuck for a while in pre-production. There’s been several cast change-ups and directors along the way, but at its current format will follow a young Nathan Drake on a quest of hunting down lost treasure. Portraying the role of Nathan Drake remains Tom Holland. However, the last we heard of this movie production is that the director at the time, Dan Trachtenberg decided to drop the film.
Until now, we’ve been in the dark on who Sony Pictures would bring on next to take the lead over this movie. It appears that Sony is looking to bring in Travis Knight into the director seat of the Uncharted film but we’ll have to wait and see if there are any other changes made to the production that may alter the original vision of this story.
Again, right now it appears that Tom Holland will be portraying a young Nathan Drake in a new adventure quest full of ancient ruins and treasure. We’re normally going into movies with a low expectation that the adaptation of a video game is poor. However, when it comes to Naughty Dog’s Uncharted video game series you’ll find that these games already have a movie cinematic experience in general.
From the storyline to the gameplay, the video game franchise does look like it could transitions well to a cinematic film franchise. At any rate, we’ll have to wait and see if this movie picks up its pace and makes it out into the projected release of towards the end of 2020.
