Millions of buyers are excited to finally sink their teeth into November’s feast of next-generation technology, but not everyone connected to the industry sees the appeal of the highly anticipated launches. Adrian Chmielarz, former creative director at Gears of War: Judgment and Bulletstorm studio People Can Fly, argues that the software lineups being provided by the two boxes are generic.
Chmielarz sent out multiple Tweets discussing the issue, claiming that there’s little out there for those who already own powerful gaming PCs.
“I looked at the PS4/XBO launch titles, and… nothing. Both Killzone and Ryse gameplay on YouTube reeks of ‘generic,’” he Tweeted. “Remember how we got Condemned and Resistance at the current-gen's launch? Nothing interesting this time around if you have a PC.”
If Chmielarz had his way, Bulletstorm 2 would be deep into development for the consoles, but since that’s not the case, he doesn’t seem too excited about what’s out there. The fast-paced FPS never saw a sequel due to both poor marketing and low PC sales – thanks to a few pirates.
Chmielarz is currently a member of the fresh indie game studio, The Astronauts.
