Volition and Deep Silver have released the latest DLC for Saints Row 4: Enter the Dominatrix, available as of right now.
Originally an April Fool’s joke posted last year, Volition was swamped with requests, nay, demands, that the prank be made real in the Saints Row universe. The original joke promised it as a Saints Row 3 expansion, with the premise of an alien invader, Zinyak, kidnapping the leader of the Saints and placing him in a virtual reality simulation of Steelport ruled by the Dominatrix.
It does seem that Volition freely adapted the premise to eventually come up with the storyline of Saints Row 4, for better or worse. In the actual DLC, the plot has been reworked so that the Dominatrix itself is an AI program running the simulation, scheming to trap all the Saints in. The DLC includes behind the scenes commentary, and Volition promises some fan favorites coming back, but since it’s all a simulation, who knows if it’s really them…
