In a press release sent to us today, Deep Silver announced that Nascar '14 will be coming early 2014 to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms. The game will be developed by Eutechnyx, the company who developed the last three games.
“NASCAR is a hugely popular sport, second only to the NFL in TV ratings with licensed games having been published by Activision in recent years. Deep Silver is thrilled to have acquired the publishing rights to NASCAR ’14 and looks forward to cultivating a long-term relationship with both the fans and the franchise,” says Deep Silver Inc. COO, Geoff Mulligan.
The game will feature "NASCAR Highlights" in an attempt to mimic the real time condition of the cars, weather, and tracks. It will simulate the current season so that players can really take the wheel playing NASCAR '14. There will also be a "comprehensive" career mode included in the game.
In addition to the presence of online multiplayer, players will able to host online leagues with friends and have dynamic statistics, challenges, rankings, and replay.
Fans will get the chance to vote which NASCAR driver will grace the cover of NASCAR '14 in this year's "Drive for the Cover" campaign. Starting today, fans can vote here until the end of 2013 Sprint Cup season. The winner will be announced in early December during NASCAR Champion's Week in Las Vegas.
For now, here is the temporary box art for the game on the PlayStation 3 platform.
