Raindrop Studios launched a Kickstarter campaign to crowdfund their game called Raindrop. A fascinating survival game that boasts meticulously designed areas and an ethereal vibe that'll keep players intrigued.
The studio is a two-man team powered by Nihad Nasupovic and Max Ramirez from Luzern, Switzerland. Their kickstarter page describes the game as "a surreal, environment driven, survival game that includes fully explorable levels with intuitive, complex puzzles."
The game features a dynamic weather, day, and night environment cycle. Players will need to solve puzzles to progress through the game. Loot and customization appear to be available. They've also added the "weight" and "size" aspect into the inventory system to add realism.
Raindrop makes it possible for players to create makeshit objects and guns from the loot they've found. While it was possible to create makeshift melee weapons in games like The Last of Us, it's refreshing to see how you can make a gun from scratch in this game.
They have an initial goal USD $144,000 and that will make Raindrop available on Microsoft Windows, OS X, and Linux systems. If they meet their stretch goals, Raindrop studios will have the resources to integrate an open world, multiplayer capabilities, Oculus Rift support, and many other cool things.
You can pledge and help Raindrop reach its goal until November 11, 2013 3:57 EST.
