Daymare: 1998 has an interesting backstory if you’ve been following this game for the past few years. From development team Invader Studios, Daymare: 1998 started out as a fan remake of Resident Evil 2. As these things tend to go, the project was killed, but rather than disbanding the team repurposed their content to reflect a new IP altogether thus Daymare: 1998 was born, giving survival horror fans a new third-person over-the-shoulder video game to enjoy.
This is not only a title that pays homage to the past old school survival horror titles but also includes a number of key individuals who had worked on past classics. For instance, we knew that Kazuhiro Aoyama who had hands on Resident Evil and directed Resident Evil 3: Nemesis was contributing in the production of Daymare: 1998. Overall, this is an over-the-shoulder third-person survival horror title where players will be battling against a slew of different zombies.
Now the game has officially launched into the market and players can enjoy it right now on the PC platform. Being a brand new release, the game is starting off with a discount giving players a slight incentive to try it out. Daymare: 1998 is currently only $26.99. If you’re wanting a look back at an old school 90s horror title with a brand new story then this game may be worth giving a shot. For now, you can check out the trailer above along with a gallery from the title below.
