Ivan Buchta of Bohemia Interactive was interviewed by a redditor "DrBigMoney", who shared his lengthy session with the developer on the subject of the DayZ Standalone version on reddit.
WIthin the interview, Buchta talked about what to expect from the game in the future, with what is, and isn't possible.
"We are aware of the possibilities [seasonal changes] would bring to the gameplay and it's something I would personally love to see in the Real Virtuality engine one day, but we don't have the appropriate technology to facilitate seasonal changes yet," said Buchta in response to a question about whether players could expect full seasons with a wide range of temperature swings and weather patterns.
Buchta also opened up about what to expect from the game post-release.
"I hope there will be the opportunity for us to keep updating Chernarus map for some time after the release, as it's obvious that we won't have all the proposed changes of the map ready for the first public alpha releases," wrote Buchta.
"For me as a player, feature updates and their exploration was big part of DayZ Mod experience, and I think it would be great if we could occassionally give you a larger update of the map, be it just few locations or features as a time.
The interview was split into two sections, the second of which is due for publication soon.
