Commenters claim this is the new guard break move, and it definitely fits the description. Straight out of a fighting game, guard break lets you hit an opponent while their shield is up, forcing their defenses down, and then striking with an immediate follow up. As From Software has promised, the game is going to force people to get out of their comfort zones and try new strategies.
